Position Description

University Marketing, within the division of University Affairs, seeks a dynamic and highly organized project manager to join our team. This role leads and coordinates various marketing projects to support the university's strategic goals. As the project manager, you will work closely with a talented team of designers, web developers, communications specialists, and content creators. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of marketing initiatives, managing project timelines, and facilitating efficient collaboration between teams. You should be comfortable communicating with others in a team environment and be able to work directly with creative teams. While our current project management platform is Smartsheets, this role will also involve evaluating and potentially transitioning to other project management tools as needed.


Project Planning and Execution:

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of marketing projects to achieve university objectives.
  • Establish project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Define project requirements, tasks, and resource allocations.


Project Management:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Ensure clear communication among team members and stakeholders.


Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Foster collaboration among the design, web development, communications, and content creators.
  • Possess the ability to lead individuals regardless of their reporting structure.
  • Ensure alignment of project objectives with the university's marketing strategy.


Resource Management:

  • Allocate resources effectively to optimize project performance.
  • Identify and address resource constraints or bottlenecks.


Project Evaluation:

  • Conduct regular project reviews and post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Gather and analyze project performance metrics.


Change Management:

  • Stay updated on emerging project management tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to explore and implement alternative project management platforms, if necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, project management, or a related field.
  • Three years of proven experience in project management, preferably in a marketing or higher education environment, or, six years of progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Smartsheets, Asana, Trello).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies is a plus.
  • Contributing to the success and reputation of an outstanding university.

Compensation at a Glance:
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.

Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. Seattle University provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your total compensation package.
