Functions as a business support person to the plant and financial management team.

• Responsible for plant level costs and control including cost accounting, bill of material audits, and cost analysis.
• Works closely with manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as educate/inform department(s) on cost drivers and variances.
• Also act as liaison with corporate financial staff, as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Works with inventory, manufacturing, and production planning modules in Epicor system.
• Maintenance of the Inventory Control, Manufacturing, and Production Planning modules in Epicor in coordination with affected departments.
• Maintains Inventory Pricing Model spreadsheet working with VP Sales & Marketing and Product Director.
• Coordinates with Product Director on costing analysis for new products. Implement all additions and change to product lines in Epicor system as needed.
• Works with the finance department to implement and apply cost accounting policies and procedures as they are derived.
• Performs manufacturing analysis - including budgets, forecasts, Long Range Plans (LRP.) Analyzes actual labor, material, and overhead cost against Standard/Budget. Research and explains variances. Reports this information as needed.
• Develops and maintain Bills of Materials for manufacturing. Interacts with Production Control to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date. Reviews and audits BOM’s to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices. Suggests changes and improvements as needed.
• Development of new labor and overhead rates, budget, bonus rates (points) and forecasts.
• Performs ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support plant operations.
• Analysis of the obsolescence and other inventory accruals. (EB)
• Assists the Purchasing agent in analysis of product movement and trends. Assists with the development of buying forecasts.
• Performs inventory related cost analysis and auditing – Reviews invoices for accuracy and impact on cost structures. Research and explains issues and variances. Report this information as needed.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

• 10 years in an accounting position in a manufacturing environment.
• 3-4 years management experience
• Exposure to manufacturing departments/staff/activities, cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
• B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.

• Experience with Epicor.
• Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes a plus.
