Job Description

Company:

ABA Connect, an early intervention, applied behavior analysis (ABA) service provider for children with autism in Texas, is looking to hire an experienced accountant to undertake all aspects of financial management to professionalize the accounting function in support of the growth objectives of the organization.

Autism services is a $15B market in the behavioral health sector and has become one of the most attractive areas for investment. ABA Connect is looking to take advantage of this rapidly growing market to build a best-in-class platform that can prove out its ability to deliver high-quality clinical outcomes. Our organization currently operates 9 clinics in Texas, 2 in Colorado and is preparing to execute on a robust expansion strategy through de novo clinic startups and acquisitions in a highly fragmented market.


Financial Controller Position:

The Financial Controller will work with the executive and operational team, reporting directly to the VP of Finance. The Financial Controller will be responsible for all accounting functions of ABA Connect including corporate accounting, financial reporting, cash management, tax compliance and risk management.

The ideal candidate is an operational accounting person with a solid accounting background and the ability to analyze financial results and provide reporting and insights to the business operations to help direct and achieve strategic objectives. In addition, the candidate must be a hands on, growth minded, high energy team player.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial close for the Company, including preparation of monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) and associated management reporting on results, including KPI’s.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Billing Manager to ensure timely billing and collections.
  • Daily cash management
  • Prepare the Company’s annual operating plan
  • Set-up and implement accounting systems for financial reporting and KPI tracking
  • Develop and monitor policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles
  • Coordination with external advisors in the areas of audit, tax, risk management (insurance) and others.
  • Preparation of reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
  • Such other duties and requirements as may be requested.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA is a plus.
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting and operational reporting. A mix of public and private is preferred, as well as working in a Private Equity environment.
  • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP and other related financial systems. Knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in written and spoken English and to prepare and deliver presentations to all levels of organization.

  • Must have visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to frequently sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job site
Job Type: Full-time - Hybrid
  • at least 2 days a week in-person (subject to change per business need)
  • in-person required during month-end close
Salary: $100,000 to $150,000 annually
