RIHousing – Intern - Human Resources

Salary Range – $20/hr

What it’s all about: 

Incumbent will administer aspects of the organization’s volunteer, wellness, professional development, and engagement opportunities. Incumbent will provide overall administrative support for the Human Resources department.

What you’ll do on a daily basis: 

  • Schedule, coordinate, and assign volunteer opportunities with appropriate departments, supervisors, and staff members.
  • Maintain files, records, applications, and other data concerning employee engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities.
  • Coordinate, plan, and facilitate employee health and wellness activities and programs. 
  • Plan and implement classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles. 
  • Develop and maintain accounting records for assigned programs, events, activities, and outings.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Identify volunteer, professional development, and employee engagement opportunities for the organization. Communicate opportunities with members of the organization. 
  • Develop promotion and publicity plans for HR-sponsored programs throughout the organization. 
  • Evaluate the success of each activity, event, or outing and identify future improvement opportunities.
  • Identify a variety of vendors to solicit discount opportunities for employees.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors used in events, activities, outings, and employee discount programs.
  • Track analytics for social media campaigns, create posting schedules, and write captions for social media posts.
  • Support marketing team.
  • Ensure required staff and materials are available and prepared for events or activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of event planning practices and techniques. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with vendors. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels with respect.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
