This will be a summer internship (June-August) for 40 hours per week. This is a hybrid position where you will work in our Boston office on Tuesday and Thursday. 

Position Summary:

We seek a Business Development Intern who possesses curiosity, analytical skills, and a hunger to identify qualified prospects. As part of our business development intern program, you’ll join a team of business development representatives who work with sales and marketing n outbound prospecting and qualifying inbound leads to drive business growth. You will get to know our products, research accounts we want to sell to, generate leads from sources including sales directors, marketing leads, prospect lists, and independent research. You’ll get hands-on and learn modern marketing and sales systems. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, highly motivated self-starter with a competitive focus on reaching decision-makers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Confidently asks questions and learns about prospect needs and qualifications.
  • Conducts research and documents findings.
  • Clearly communicates prospect needs, connects prospect problems to Rhapsody solutions, and documents details for effective handoff to sales.
  • Effectively articulates the Rhapsody mission, product features/benefits, programs, and value proposition.
  • Uses marketing and sales automation applications including LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, salesforce to build relationships and start conversations with prospects.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Logs all communications with new and prospective customers in Salesforce.
  • Generating outbound leads to targeted healthcare accounts.
  • Share relevant content, case studies, and success stories to educate prospects about our offerings.
  • Gather feedback from prospects and share insights with marketing and product teams. Continuously improve messaging and targeting strategies.
  • Transition qualified opportunities to the sales team. Provide detailed context, notes and insights to facilitate effective follow-up.
  • Monitor KPIs such as call volume, email response rates, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution.
  • Research target accounts and decision-makers for outbound prospecting. Engage prospects with messaging tailored to their organizational needs.
  • Be part of an emerging intern program and foster a path to longer term opportunity with Rhapsody.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in progress
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Resourcefulness with the drive to succeed
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Proficient MS Office and Outlook
