HR Generalist Duties/Responsibilities: • Serves as first point of contact for HR inquiries within assigned region(s), responsible for answering form related requests and policy and procedural questions. • Works closely and day to day with the HR Manager in the management of benefits and employee relations activities. • Conveys complex information and takes steps to ensure an understanding of all HR policies, procedures, and practices. • Coordinates with the HR Manager on benefits eligibility for staff members. • Utilizes the payroll and HRIS systems to support management of workforce. • Maintains ongoing communication with field staff matters related to management of time and attendance • Coordinates with Payroll department to advise on inquiries or issues that may arise and that are related to pay, including timecard entries, pay discrepancies, and leave of absence options. • Provides information to 3rd party Short-Term Disability (STD) carrier to verify benefit eligibility and monitors STD claims. • Under guidance of the HR Manager facilitates the processing of leaves and accommodation requests • Communicates with other departments regarding employment data inquiries while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality. • Assists the HR Manager with the administration of Unemployment and Worker’s Compensation claims. • Enters new, updates, and maintains HR reporting systems to ensure accuracy and data integrity. • Create spreadsheets, generation/creation of reports and forms. Utilizes HR reporting system in developing, preparing and distributing routine HR reports. • Supports HR team with recruitment activities, including phone screens, background checks, other HR processes as needed. • Review employment documentation, including I-9’s, for compliance and communicate correction requests to HR Manager and appropriate employees as required. • Assists with the delivery of on-boarding and other trainings focused on increasing employee skill sets as well as trainings on professionalism, conflict management, diversity in the workplace, sexual harassment and other training and development as needed. • Assists with distribution of company-wide HR correspondence as needed. • Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee trainings. Qualifications • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, Bachelor’s required; and 1-3 years experience in an HR Generalist role preferred. • Strong communication, verbal and written, as well as strong relationship building skills are required. • Experience working with employment and labor law attorneys preferred, but not required. • Proficiency with various technology and Human Resources Information Systems such as ADP HRIS and Payroll systems; MS Office Suite; various on-line job boards and social media platforms. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related computer applications required. • Experience with PayCom HRIS systems preferred.
