Professional Benefit Administrators is Hiring a Director of Human Resources Near Brook, IL

Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources is a trusted business partner that will influence and implement strategic change aligned with company goals, and directly manage 1 direct report (the HR Generalist). The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the entire HR function, including, the overall administration, oversight, coordination, and evaluation of all HR matters & initiatives. This person must be an outgoing individual who is able to connect and coach with all levels of our organization, including 100 staff and 13 leadership team members. This individual will report directly to our CFO and support a mostly remote work environment at Professional Benefit Administrators (PBA).

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management preferred, or 8-10 years of related work experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience leading an HR department with at least 1 direct report.
  • 8-10 years of Generalist HR experience in most, if not all, of the various aspects of the HR function: (e.g. payroll (Paylocity), benefits, compensation, labor compliance, recruitment, employee relations, performance and personnel management)
  • Experience leading & facilitating training for all levels of the organization, including: performance management, remote work culture building, setting goals and tracking KPIs, building out training materials from scratch and working with subject matter experts throughout the organization to design and develop applicable training guides.
  • Familiarity working with both non-exempt and exempt employee population.

Soft Skills

  • Proven leadership skills and prior change management experience preferred.
  • Strong and effective communication skills in both written and oral.
  • Must be trustworthy and dependable as you will ultimately be responsible for overseeing payroll (HR Generalist processes bi-weekly payroll).
  • Open minded and desire to learn, grow and receive feedback in a welcoming way.
  • Ability to quickly problem solve as well as give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner so that you get along with subordinates, customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Must be able to uphold, represent and correct those that are not adhering to PBA’s Core Values, which are:
