We are looking for a highly motivated HR Specialist to add to our HR team. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail, outstanding time management and communication skills, a commitment to exceptional employee support, and the ability to build relationships at every level of the organization. 

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for employee onboarding and offboarding processes from start to finish.
  • Serve as a point of contact for PGC employees with HR related questions such as onboarding, benefits, payroll, etc.
  • Follow up with new hires one week and three weeks after start date.
  • Responsible for benefits administration, invoice reconciliation and eligibility announcement.
  • Help and assist employees with benefit questions.
  • Support Workers Compensation and recruiting efforts.
  • Always maintains a high level of confidentiality and protects confidential information by only providing information for those on a “need to know” basis.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the HR Manager or EVP.
  • Welcome new hires with prepared onboarding materials, providing an environment that is friendly and inclusive.
  • Enter and maintain employee information into the payroll system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, open enrollment, surveys etc.) to maximize the employee experience.
  • Oversee all processes related to preparing and conducting New Hire Orientation and onboarding new employees.
  • Perform day-to-day activities of the HR function such as pre-employment screenings, reply to unemployment claims, physical and drug testing, maintaining employee records and files, verifications of employment, and oversees off-boarding processes.
  • Coordinate efforts with IT Department to ensure all tech hardware, software, and systems are ready to go ahead of new hire start date.
  • Provide overall HR compliance support and guidance related to regulatory compliance, as well as company HR policies and procedures. Including but not limited to the administration of background checks, I-9 administration/E-Verify, building access, and labor law compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint Spectrum is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work and interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • One to three years of professional human resource administration experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
  • Able to use hands and repeat the same movements.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based work with varying temperatures.

Job Type:Full-time, Non-exempt

Salary: $45,000 to $65,000, Based on Experience

Physical Demands: The job requires the ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Office-based work with varying temperatures. In an office setting the individual will be expected to use a computer extensively and engage in keyboarding activities for extended periods. Occasional travel to jobsites with fluctuations in weather.
