Responsibilities

The Senior Staff Accountant is a member of the Accounting Team within the Administration Department and will manage the weekly accounts payable process including processing vendor invoices for payment, ensuring correct approval and account coding, and recording in the general ledger. This person will also be responsible for preparing audit workpapers, quarterly client invoices, and various financial reports, including credit card reconciliations and budget reports. Qualified candidates should be comfortable working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. A proficient level of skill in Excel is expected, as the vast majority of reports will be prepared in Excel. Additionally, the candidate should be adept at learning new technologies, specifically Concur and NetSuite, if prior experience is not applicable.

• Manage the accounts payable cycle and expense recording
• Oversee the corporate credit card program and the monthly reconciliation process
• Manage the annual financial statement audit and prepare related documentation
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly client invoices
• Participate in vendor procurement reviews
• Update and maintain vendor information
• Prepare information for 1099s and quarterly use tax returns
• Ad hoc financial reporting projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field requiring strong analytical and quantitative skills such as Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university or relevant industry related experience
• 2 years of corporate accounting experience, payables experience preferred
• Experience in MS Office products
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with all levels of staff
• CPA or working toward certification is preferred
• Experience with NetSuite is preferred but not required
