Affinia Healthcare is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near St. Louis, MO

POSITION SUMMARY: To apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related Business Management is preferred. Would consider an Associate Degree in accounting or related business field with experience.

Experience: Requires three (3) years of accounting experience in multi-million-dollar corporation/not-for-profit agency in the following areas:

  • Budget preparation/reporting in automated accounting systems.
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Fixed asset reconciliation.
  • Intercompany allocations.
  • Grant reporting and compliance.
  • Preparations of Audit Schedules.
  • Audits (internal and external).

Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

  1. Ability to identify accuracy of information from A/R, A/P, Payroll, GL and problem solve as required.
  2. Excellent oral and written oral communication skills including preparation of reports and proposals.
  3. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work under limited supervision.
  4. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet established timelines.
  5. Good computer skills including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and e-mail software.

Residency and Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required: None Required.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

  1. Complete monthly and annual general ledger closings to include analysis to ensure numbers accurately reflect current conditions.
  2. Develop reports to support budget, allocate costs to program, support billing to grantors in accordance with established cost allocation methodology.
  3. Monitor contract compliance and prepare reports for grantors.
  4. Record transactions in such a manner to preserve audit trail on every occasion.
  5. Monitor program activities, clarify/explain accounting practices with program managers when necessary and prepare reports for program directors.
  6. Prepare monthly invoices for program costs.
  7. Maintain records and prepare reports relating to fixed assets.
  8. Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and make adjustments, as necessary.
  9. Prepare audit schedules, board reports, financial reports, tax reports and federal grant reports.
  10. Work with and provide accounting support to the Controller and CFO for Affinia Healthcare.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions

  1. Support Managing Directors in grant proposals and budgeting.
  2. Assist with Controller's responsibilities.
