Job Summary:
Mural Arts Education partners with the Career Connected Learning (C2L-PHL) Program to provide summer programming and employment opportunities for youth enrolled in the Art Education program. Youth work in teams at sites across Philadelphia with Teaching Artists on various large or small scale mural projects. Mural Arts seeks a C2L-PHL Program Coordinator to complete the logistical coordination and monitoring required to be a part of the C2L-PHL summer program.

This is a temporary, part-time position. Interested candidates must be available to work Monday-Friday, 20 hours/week, from mid-May to late-August - mostly afternoons and evenings from mid-May to June, between the hours of 9 AM- 5 PM July through mid-August. Some evenings may be necessary. Must be able to work for the full term of employment, from mid-May to late-August. A driver’s license with reliable vehicle or eligibility to join the Mural Arts Program ZipCar account and criminal and child abuse background checks are required for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Contacting interested students and/or their parents to schedule appointments to complete the paperwork enrollment process
• Attend trainings, workshops and orientations as scheduled.
• Assist with special programs as directed.
• Maintaining electronic and paper student enrollment and payroll files for Mural Arts and C2L-PHL
• Serve as liaison for C2L-PHL and Mural Arts for all site visits by C2L-PHL program monitors
• Ensure that sites are running in compliance with C2L-PHL standards
• Work with site supervisors to gauge the work performance of assigned youth.
• Coordinate visits with Teaching Artists to sites 2-3 days per week, to observe and ensure that youth are performing their job duties in a satisfactory manner, deliver transportation passes and announcements to all program participants.
• Collect time entry or payment entry to ensure correct and accurate youth payment.
• Enter program participant data into spreadsheets or database.
• Provide regular reports and meet with Mural Arts staff weekly
• Maintain contact with C2L-PHL to stay abreast of any updates in the enrollment process and general programming

Qualifications:

• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Ability to respond well to changing demands in a fast paced work environment
• Experience working with middle school and high school aged youth preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a variety of student and peer staff members
• Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision once objectives and tasks have been determined
• Comfort and ease with technology; knowledge of Google Suite and Excel required.
• 1-year relevant work experience preferred
• Completion of forms for PA State Police Criminal background, PA Department of Public Welfare Childline and FBI clearance
• Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions of a position in this class.

Hourly Rate:

The hourly rate for this position is $17-25/hr (experience-based).
