SUPERVISOR: Program Manager

SUMMARY: Based in the Oxford Circle neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA, the Oxford Circle Christian Community Development Association (OCCCDA) is seeking an After School Coordinator. The mission of OCCCDA is “to extend healing and hope in the Oxford Circle community, believing that God’s purpose of reconciling all people to Jesus leads us to minister on spiritual, physical, social & economic levels.”

The 21st CCLC Out of School Time Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing the activities of the STEAM-based After School Program in compliance with our 21st century grant requirements. The High School program operates Monday to Friday from 11:30AM to 4:30 PM.

COMPENSATION: $20.50 per hour at 25 hours per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Program Coordinator

  • Develop rapport and build relationships with school faculty, OST staff, students, and families.
  • Search for, communicate and work with collaborative partnerships to implement fun, engaging developmentally appropriate activities in the areas of character development, fitness and recreation, academics/enrichment.
  • When absent or short staffed you’re responsible for securing coverage for your program site, no exceptions.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager to ensure quality programming.
  • Creating a fun and safe environment for enrolled students.
  • Promote and encourage participation of OST staff, students, parents, and volunteers.
  • Screen resumes, and interview potential candidates via phone, video, and in-person
  • Supervise, train, mentor, coach, and manage Assistant Program Coordinator, Group Leaders, and Safety Monitor.
  • Responsible for ensuring cleanup of classrooms following projects, and lunchroom after snack.
  • Attend meetings, collaboration meetings, management feedback meetings, and other meetings and training as required.
  • Responsible for documenting and immediately reporting necessary paperwork for grant/funding purposes.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality by arriving on time.
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written expression.
  • Communicate effectively and in a professional manner with school administrators, school/OST staff and/or parents when necessary.
  • Responsible for collecting and/or submitting purchase receipt(s) from Assistant Coordinator in a timely manner as per Program Manager directive.
  • Establishing and implementing expectations for OST site, staff, students, and families.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality by arriving on time.
  • Accurately completes and submits timecards/payroll records.
  • Report all absences, no-call/no-show, tardiness, or requests for time off to Program Manager.
  • Responsible for setting a positive example, atmosphere attitudes, and habits in OST program.
  • Ability to recognize potential issues, apply established OCCCDA and/or OST policy and procedures; as well as problem solve when needed.
  • Ability to work with many distractions, interruptions and still accomplish their objectives and meet established deadlines.
  • Document incident/ accident reports when needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Program Manager, Supervisor and/or Administrator.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· An understanding of and a commitment to carry out the mission of Oxford Circle CCDA

· Associate Degree or related field and/or five (5) years- experience working with youth. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

· Demonstrated ability in achieving academic outcomes in low-income communities

· Critical thinking skills, collaborative, detail-oriented, and listening skills

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse population of youth, parents, and community partners

· Ability to multiple tasks/ and learn quickly

· Competency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office including word, excel, and power point

Work Location:

  • Mainly one location, sub when needed at another nearby location.
