Job Summary

We are hiring a hands-on Assistant Controller who is looking for a challenging accounting leader role in a fast-growing SaaS company. This assistant controller is responsible for the day-to-day operations and plays a key role in MTech’s finance team at MTech.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs month-end closing, reconciles inter-company transactions, reviews accounts, and reports in the parent company’s consolidation system.
• Supervises and assists closing activities performed by the team members.
• Prepares complex monthly business review report after month-end close.
• Provides accounting guidance on the daily accounting activities performed by the team members.
• Prepares internal control documentation and responds to quarterly internal control questionnaire required by the parent company.
• Prepares requested documents and assists internal and external audits.
• Improves accounting and operational processes.
• Troubleshoots transaction issues in NetSuite and works with financial controller for system enhancement and integration.
• Assists Controller on matters related to corporate and legal compliances.
• Assists Controller on budgeting and forecasting.
• Analyzes and prepares financial reports for the management team.

Education and Experience

• Four-year college degree in accounting or equivalent
• Passed four parts of CPA exam. Active CPA license preferred but not required
• Public accounting experience preferred but not required
• 5-8 years of work experience in accounting
• Strong working knowledge in US GAAP or IFRS, including full understanding on financial statements, income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
• Experience in financial audit

Qualifications and Skills

• Spanish or Portuguese language skills preferred but not required
• Excellent work ethics and commitment to meet deadlines
• Strong technical, analytical, communications, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Advanced Excel skills are a must
• NetSuite or equivalent ERP system required
• Abilities to determine accounting implications and develops processes
