Position Purpose:

ML Holdings Company is searching for a Senior Accountant. In this role, the Senior Accountant will prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist in the month, quarter, and annual close processes for our corporate location. They are responsible for ensuring the month end close process is completed timely and efficiently and will assist the Controller in ensuring all financial entries are recorded in accordance with GAAP to properly reflect the financial status of the company.

$65K to $90K depending on experience and qualifications Bonus!

Essential Job Functions:

• Compiling and classifying financial information
• Balance sheet account reconciliations – including bank reconciliations, prepaid and accrual account reconciliations, intercompany, fixed assets, work in process, parts and equipment inventory reconciliations, and other balance sheet clearing accounts
• Documenting business transactions, assisting in implementing new accounting processes, and recommending process improvements
• Performs specialized accounting assignments that can involve confidential data
• Create and execute general journal entries based on supporting documentation
• Produce recurring monthly accrued and prepaid expense account entries
• Performing month end close across multiple companies, including payroll and intercompany entries
• Maintain fixed assets records and associated depreciation schedules
• Prepare annual personal property tax returns
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns for multiple entities and states
• Prepare monthly commission schedules for sales employees
• Assist with researching variances for monthly financial analysis
• Assist in annual budgeting process
• Cross train on all accounting modules
• Support for purchase card and fuel card administration

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3-5 years of general accounting experience – some public accounting experience is preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Effective communication skills, written & verbal
• Ability to work independently and on a team
• Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen & physical
• Must be able to pass background check prior to accepting the position

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient utilizing computers including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Internet Explorer and general laptop or desktop computer use.
