The Equipment Technology and Services (ET&S) business platform for Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Accounting professional to play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence and operational efficiency within our global operations. This position will be integral in shaping the core competency of our manufacturing organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, fostering a culture of value creation and continuous improvement while applying Principle Based Management (PBM).
The Senior Accountant may sit at our Wichita, KS or Houston, TX offices with flexible in office schedule.
What You Will Do
- Evaluate and challenge the cost structures and profitability metrics of projects, product lines, customers, and business units. Provide invaluable insights to influence strategic decisions regarding capital investments, cost optimization, and pricing strategies.
- Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Financial Operations, and Controllership to proactively anticipate and manage project dynamics and financial implications.
- Oversee the meticulous collection, recording, and allocation of project costs and revenues. Ensure precise project profit and loss calculations, budget vs. actual cost analysis, and provide comprehensive financial performance reports to project/program management.
- Take ownership of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting standards. Drive initiatives to optimize working capital management and enhance profitability.
- Drive transformative change by challenging historical practices and leveraging technology enablers and automation tools. Implement visualization techniques to enhance decision-making processes and minimize waste through data-driven insights.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience working in an accounting or finance support role with strong proficiency/knowledge in accounting and financial principles, controls and processes.
- Experience communicating results and financial concepts to global audiences.
- Experience collaborating and business partnering across various departments.
- Experience with analytical and problem-solving capabilities to drive actionable insights.
- Experience or desire to drive transformation by respectfully challenging historical practices and leveraging technology and automation tools.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working in a cost / project cost related role.
- Experience with an ERP system implementation.
- Experience with large ERPs and proficiency in data analysis/visualization tools beyond Excel (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
