We are seeking an experienced Program Support Specialist (Honorary Awards) to support our client, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington, DC. This position is full-time and onsite. Please note: the successful candidate will provide support remotely until the building is reopened following the pandemic.
The successful candidate will provide information technology (IT) support in the collection, analysis and manipulation of data, to include the applicable systems for these programs (i.e., Entellitrak, etc.); implement recommendations and where needed conduct a year-end assessment that includes reporting of information that identifies whether diversity and inclusion is leveraged within the Honorary Awards Program. The successful candidate will also:

  • Develop the planning process for the Honorary Awards Program.
  • Develop marketing plan and tools to align with ceremony (in-person/virtual), theme, and communications.
  • Identify award categories.
  • Develop agency-wide communications.
  • Intake/administer award nominations.
  • Coordinate panels and identify winners for all categories.
  • Vet processes with key shareholders.
  • Coordinate notifying winners of their selection and providing program information.
  • Coordinate development of suggested program themes.
  • Coordinate/vet ceremony type (Virtual/in-person) the program’s look and event planning requirements.
  • Track/distribute awards and closeout.
  • Coordinate and finalize ceremony program booklet and logistics.
  • Coordinate script for the ceremony.
  • Day-of event coordination and execution such as reception, logistics, catering, decorations, volunteer usher outreach, and program execution.
  • Assist with the implementation of business process improvement recommendations
  • Respond to inquiries via askHR, email, phone, as well as the branch chief, assistant director and other management inquires.
  • As needed, draft SEC Today notices, KB articles, frequently asked questions, and agency-wide communications.
  • Coordinate regularly with key stakeholders Program Manager, Chair’s Office, Chief Operating Officer (CHCO)/Deputy CHCO, Office of Public Affairs (OPA), Office of Support Operations (OSO), Office of General Counsel (OGC), Office of Acquisitions (OA), Office/Division staff, etc.), regarding program updates and program analysis.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
  • Experience with awards programs and management systems in the federal government.
  • A basic understanding of human resource programs with some specific knowledge and experience with awards programs.
  • Experience working with and manipulating data as an advanced user of Excel (creating and manipulating pivot tables, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in applying a wide range of methods used to gather, analyze, report and evaluate information.
  • Possess knowledge of management information systems/office automation applications, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with automated systems and advanced skill with Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • IT expertise to intake/manipulate data into SEC systems/sites such as SharePoint and to suggest updates to the automated system.
  • Experience facilitating periodic meetings with the Program Manager, Branch Chief and key stakeholders to discuss program progress.
  • Requires user acceptance testing (UAT) skills for any new or updated IT system.
  • Outstanding writing ability, analytical skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional internal and external customer service abilities.
