KnowledgeBank is Hiring a HR Specialist (Federal) Near Washington, DC

We are seeking an HR Specialist to support our client, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington, DC. This position is full time and offsite.

The successful candidate will provide support in the following areas including, but not limited to:

  • Preparing offer letters, initiating pre-appointment checks, posting job vacancies and their URLs, and case file construction in USA staffing.
  • Supports special projects for the Talent Acquisition Group, including assisting in researching for and establishing recruitment partnerships with colleges and universities.
  • Processes a variety of personnel actions including promotions, separations, pay related adjustments and changes in employee data.
  • Extracts data from automated systems using automated reporting applications, determines the need for corrections and makes changes as necessary.
  • Researches, enters, updates, and verifies information in automated personnel files and various Excel-based recruitment spreadsheets.
  • Monitors and clears the Outlook recruitment mailbox, resolving and escalating inquiries as needed.
  • Enters and verifies data within an automated HR database to build and maintain employee and position records.

The successful candidate will possess the following competencies:

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience in the federal sector.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative principles and practices.
  • Proficiency using the Department of Interior’s Federal Personnel Payroll System (FPPS).
  • Experience using the Electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF).
  • Experience using USA Staffing 2.0 (most recent version) or equivalent.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite (most recent version and all preceding versions), to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, particularly pertaining to data entry, updating, and validation.
