The Director Human Resources will develop strategies and associated action plans to achieve business objectives. This person performs a crucial role, serving as a link between the strategic goals of a business and the people responsible for getting the company where it needs to be.
Essential Functions:- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, and initiatives to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
- Develop, recommend, and implement human resources processes, systems, products, and services to managers and employees
- Support and consult both employees and managers on correct interpretation and administration of company policies
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Partners with legal and HRBP teams to drive the principles and processes required to navigate complex and sensitive team member issues, conduct thorough investigations, and provide sound guidance in pursuit of the best outcomes that mitigate legal and cultural risks
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite in addition to ADP, WFN and UKG
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work nights and weekends. We operate 24/7/365
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, employee relations or related field; master's degree preferred
- 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in workplace investigations, employee, and labor relations
- Organizational experience in government contracting environments preferred
- Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements and Service Contract Act (SCA) highly desirable
- Bilingual (English and Spanish); preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment
