ROLE SUMMARY

Fluent Cannabis is looking for a Human Resource Manager for our Tampa, Florida, Cultivation and Manufacturing facility. This is an onsite role, and the HR Manager is required to work Monday – Friday onsite at the Tampa Cultivation facility.

The HR Manager will lead, direct, and run the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering compensation, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. In addition to day-to-day HR responsibilities, the candidate must have a strong employee relations background. This position will play a key role in the success of the organization by providing a welcoming onboarding experience, handling employee relations issues, performance management, and implementing HR best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a substantial human resources, employment law, and employee relations background and should be hands-on, self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops HR strategies, policies, and practices in conjunction with department heads and management.
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly regarding current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to hiring, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends best practices, and reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Will support on-site recruiter and may occasionally help with recruiting and interviews and help facilitate hiring qualified job applicants for open positions; will collaborate with departmental managers and recruiter to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent on-the-job experience

At least 5 years of human resource management experience in a manufacturing facility or similar industry is preferred

SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age

Must successfully complete a comprehensive level II background check

Must pass a drug screening

Must have availability to work one Saturday per month

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will manage the Tampa facility’s Recruiter.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office located within a cultivation and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be able to speak and hear. The employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and ability to work on a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 15 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This position works Monday through Friday but should have weekend availability to oversee a facility that runs seven days per week and has a night shift. This means the position requires availability after hours for emergencies. Additionally, availability work beyond 8 am to 5:00 pm when the company needs require it is essential.

TRAVEL

There is no regular travel required. However, occasional travel for job fairs and training will be required.
