Janey Lou's, Inc. is Hiring a Human Resources Assistant Near Salt Lake, UT

Job Summary:

The HR Assistant performs the administrative duties related to the operation of the Human Resource department including processing paperwork, creating reports, and scheduling. Further the assistant will support the creation of Standard Operating Processes throughout the company. The HR Administrative Assistant interacts regularly with all employees in the office and production area. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Answers and directs departmental phone calls.
  • Schedules and organizes interviews and appointments.
  • Proofreads and types documents produced by department.
  • Processes required paperwork for employment matters.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Creates human resource reports.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Helps to recruit and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintains confidential information.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Past experience using an HRIS/HCM
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of administrative assistant or HR experience preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Benefits:

  • Paid time off

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

  • Salt Lake City, UT 84116: Relocate before starting work (Required)
