Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is Hiring a Vice President, Human Resources Near Salt Lake, UT

Role based at headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah with up to 20% travel, as needed.

About The PositionAs the Vice President of Human Resources at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals), you'll lead the planning, development, and execution of our human resources function. This means you'll provide strategic guidance in areas like recruitment, HR information systems, compensation and benefits, learning and development, organizational behavior and culture, and employee relations.
In addition to strategically leading Human Resources and managing day-to-day HR operations, your role also
involves ensuring we comply with labor laws, equal opportunity regulations, and other workforce-related
mandates. You will help to reinforce our cultural values as part of our ongoing efforts to create a best-in-class
workplace. Your behavior will embody our values, and your deliverables and outcomes will drive the mission
and vision of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. You should have a deep and genuine enthusiasm for our mission to support children’s healthcare.
EducationMinimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required. Human resources or related field preferred.
Certifications Or Licenses
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive relevant leadership experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and background in HR functions (employee relations, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits) and related customer service functions, preferably in a non-profit, healthcare or charitable organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of adult learning theories and practices in support of learning and development.
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local labor and equal employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead in hybrid work environment.
  • Proven ability to execute on strategic initiatives.
  • Proven ability to partner with executive leadership to support the advancement of inclusion, diversity, equity, and anti-racism in an organization.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of CMN Hospitals’ human resource function, including recruitment, compensation, payroll, benefits, HR information systems, learning and development, and employee relations.
  • Translate our strategic plan into strategic and operational HR plans. Collaborate with leaders to design solutions that align with organizational goals and support business outcomes.
  • Build rapport and credibility throughout the organization to effectively address human resource issues and support our employee value proposition.
  • Partner with our SVP, DE&I/Culture to implement initiatives to promote inclusion, diversity, equity, and anti-racism in HR policies, procedures, and practices, and to promote employee health and wellness.
  • Partner with our SVP, Culture to enhance culture, implement retention strategies, and foster a positive work environment, while ensuring a culture of accountability.
  • Provide leadership in the design and management of a competitive compensation and benefits program. Conduct regular assessments to ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Provide leadership in the development and management of efficient HR information systems. Continuously evaluate service offerings and collaborate with senior leaders to address evolving needs.
  • Provide leadership in recruitment efforts to attract and obtain top talent. Ensure robust new employee onboarding programs support first year transitions. Develop plans to meet future staffing needs.
  • Provide leadership in employee learning and development to analyze, design, deliver, implement, and evaluate learning needs to ensure employees have the necessary competencies and capabilities to succeed at CMN Hospitals.
  • Provide leadership in employee relations to ensure performance management systems support organizational needs. Ensure the HR infrastructure provides opportunities for growth while evaluating performance and holding employees accountable to expectations. Manage internal investigations, remedial efforts, and any necessary disciplinary decisions.
  • Manage projects effectively, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints and identified timelines.
  • Foster a cohesive team by providing guidance, support, and direction to all employees within the HR department, and by coaching them to realize their full potential.
  • Manage HR budgets and financial measures, striving for efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor, equal opportunity and other rules and regulations related to the workforce.
  • Participate in professional organizations to stay informed of industry trends.
