Job Overview:
Support and ensure policies and programs are executed to support the Human Resources function and the organization. Communicate programs throughout organization.In the absence of the Sr. HR Manager, lead the activities of the Human Resources Department to meet the goals of the organization. Reports to the Sr. HR Manager
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for positive Employee Relations:
Take on "employee advocate" role in a manner that addresses employee interests and concerns, within the requirements of the business, managers, and customers.
Deliver employee activities that foster a meaningful connection to the company and to further enhance working relationships.
Administer Human Resources programs and guidelines in a manner that maintains a fair and equitable working environment.
Provide key stakeholders with updates on employee morale and issues.
Provide all employees with a confidential and accessible forum for coaching and mentoring as needed.
Provide Performance Management Consultation to Leaders:
Counsel supervisors and managers on how to effectively administer discipline when required (consistent, fair, legal, focused on improvement - however, taking an advisory role and letting managers make the final decision).
Manage Drug Testing for cause process.
Manage employee records, wage, and benefits programs:
Supervise and aid with HR data input and record keeping.
Gather area market data to ensure wages for hourly positions are competitive.
Interface with senior management for any exempt salary administration needs and updates.
Complete all Workers Compensation activity.
Refer ad-hoc benefits questions and needs to HQ staff or appropriate insurance carriers while ensuring proper services are provided and employee questions or concerns are resolved.
Local coordinator for Employee Assistance Program; refer employees as appropriate.
Employment:
Administer hourly/non-exempt recruiting/hiring processes.
Administer leave request process.
New hire orientation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum 1 - 3 years HR Manager experience / familiar with employment law, employee relations, performance management and personnel administration practices.
Self-starter who can motivate others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Previous managerial experience.
Must have either manufacturing or distribution experience
Serve as Human Resources subject-matter-expert.
Proficient with MS Office, Outlook, Web processes
Previous Union experience handling grievances, reviewing CBAs, arbitration, etc. preferred
