Honey Smoked Fish Co. is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Denver, CO
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records, both physical and electronic. Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information.
- Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Compliance: Adhere to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Assist in internal and external audits as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, procurement, and operations, to ensure smooth financial operations and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Month- end and year- end closing: Assist in the month- end and year- end closing procedures and reporting.
- Cash management: manage cash accounts including reconciling accounts, reviewing cash balances, etc.
- Responsible for managing and overseeing all cash flow management activities (collection, payables, inventory management).
- Owns the general accounting function including direction and oversight of all processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting.
- Maintains and manages fixed asset registry.
- Assists with external auditors and taxes.
- Help manage/implement/report on key performance indicators for operations and sales.
- Serves as a trusted internal business partner to operations, sales, marketing, and customer service leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. Previous experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting roles is highly desirable.
- 2 years of combined public accounting and private industry accounting experience highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts. Familiarity with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, collections, and reconciliation. Knowledge of US GAAP is desirable.
- Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to analyze financial data, identify errors or discrepancies, and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in using accounting software and financial systems. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required. Working knowledge of ERP systems (specifically accounting modules) required. QuickBooks and Acctivate experience would be a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
