Job Summary:
The Human Resource Assistant II is responsible for performing HR-related duties under the supervision of the HR Manager. This position carries out administrative responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, tracking required training, processes separations, participates in investigations, and employment law compliance. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization, must be extremely confidential, sensitive to business needs and employee goodwill.
Essential Functions/Accountabilities:
- Conducts recruitment efforts; hiring/offers of employment, background, references and drug screens.
- Conducts new-employee orientations.
- Assists with all new desk set ups with the assistance of IT.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Review benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes.
- Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process
- Distributes and monitors employee 90-Day performance evaluations
- Schedules and tracks all required Employment related trainings such as anti harassment; workplace violence, etc.
- Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Conducts exit interviews
- Maintains personnel records
- Other tasks as assigned to support the goals of the department

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three years of experience in an HR or related role
- Ability to bring a high level of integrity and professionalism
- Ability to maintain confidential information and work
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues;
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government law
- Knowledge of office administration procedures
- Ability to operate most standard office equipment
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and to maintain constructive working relationships.
