Kitchen Lead (APPLY IN PERSON - details below):

We are currently seeking a Kitchen Lead to join the Goodsurf team. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and hard-working. Bring hospitality to our eatertainment concept! Strong time management and delegation skills will be indispensable. The position reports directly to the Kitchen Manager onsite in Deep Ellum and is supported by the Executive Chef, GM, and F&B team at large.

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise activities of all kitchen staff, including Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, Dishwashers, etc.
• Ensure appropriate health and safety standards and best practices.
• Master all recipes from prep to plate.
• Determine kitchen flow from prep to service.
• Cost out food for the menus.
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
• Chop vegetables, prepare sauces, and prepare other food.
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
• Clean up stations and take care of any leftover food.
• Maintain ongoing involvement in menu and product research and development.
• Input & feedback on training and development.

What You’ll Bring:

• 3 years of culinary experience.
• 2 years of experience as Sous Chef or similar position.
• Scheduling flexibility and willingness to meet the demands of a restaurant within a popular destination.
• Self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to motivate others.
• Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques.
• TABC and Food Handler’s Certificate.
• A passion for the hospitality industry, working with dynamic teams and operations.
• Results-driven leadership and the ability to make decisions for a positive outcome with the business and team in mind.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
