The Back of House Director has a track record of extreme competency in the stewardship of culture, team, guests, business, and brand. The BOH Director is to act autonomously to advance the organization and ensure the overall success of the business based on the goals and expectations of the Operator and the Executive Director. The Back of House Director is ultimately responsible for big-picture strategy, systems development, leadership development, and obtaining results in the Back of House. The BOH Director must stay focused on desired outcomes and constantly assess whether the current strategy is producing the desired results. While the Back of House Director’s main area of ownership is the back of house, they must be trained in the front of house and understand that ensuring excellence in the front of house is vital for their own success. The Back of House Director is a champion of the Operator’s vision and is skilled at casting that vision to their team.
