Director of Program Management, Non-Degree Programs - McDonough School of Business - Georgetown University
The Director of Program Management, Non-Degree Programs , serves as an ambassador for Georgetown University, specifically for the McDonough School of Business' Executive Education program, to business, government, and NGO leaders around the world.
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Program Management, the Director of Program Management not only delivers one or two key programs, but also takes a leadership role in managing and supervising the delivery of several Executive Non-degree Program accounts. In that role, the Director has many responsibilities, including but not limited to: management of program management team, staff development, project management, event management, client management, quality control, and program delivery, both on-site at Georgetown as well as offsite, domestically and internationally.
Program management responsibilities include client and faculty interactions on a daily basis across cultures and borders; as well as highly detailed coordination with client, University stakeholders, executive participants, faculty members, instructors, external vendors, and contractors are integral components of this position. The Director also collaborates with Business Development staff to ensure high-quality program design and client oversight, employing excellent interpersonal skills, decision-making ability, and client service orientation.
The Director has 3 to 6 direct reports, ranging from Program Associate to Associate Director; as well, each direct report has their own portfolio of programs of 3 to 7 non-degree programs, with each of those requiring careful, proactive planning and execution, and operating budgets of between $25K and $150K. Therefore, the Director supervises all staff work and is ultimately accountable for the high quality delivery of every non-degree program per fiscal year, with a total number of programs in a typical fiscal year between 30 and 40, and supervisory management of an overall operating budget ranging anywhere between $2M-$4M.
Additionally, the Director manages overall workload distribution among the staff, ensuring work is evenly distributed among the staff; and plays a significant lead role in hiring decisions and in the training and growth of the team, including conducting annual performance reviews for the team.
Qualifications
BA/BS
Proficiency and efficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred qualifications
MA/MS
Experienced general manager with 10 years of experience motivating and managing service-oriented teams
Experience creating strong relationships across a complex organization.
Proven ability to execute an established strategy with P&L responsibility
Strong operational skills, including financial analysis and reporting
Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work well with senior executives and faculty members, as well as a deep commitment to establishing strong relationships with all constituents of the program
Respectful, supportive management style with a commitment to motivating and developing team members
A balance of experience creating enthusiasm around a shared vision with innovative operational expertise
International experience, with fluency in more than one language
Deep familiarity with the delivery of executive education and/or corporate training
Knowledge of CANVAS, Qualtrics, Zoom, Google Suite of products, and Salesforce
