The Controller is a key position that requires strong leadership,technical accounting knowledge (GAAP), excellent communication and managementskills as well as proficiency in time management.
JobDuties:

• Coordinate with Chief Financial Officer on financial impact of day-to-day business and special projects.
• Direct and train direct reports which include the Assistant Controller, Accounts Receivable/Credit Manager, Treasury Manager, Accounts Payable Manager, and Financial Analyst to ensure clear and consistent processes are established and followed.
• Responsible for the preparation and overall accuracy of month and year end branch financial data as well as the company consolidated financials.
• Routinely review current departmental procedures identifying areas of improvement within the organization to maximize efficiencies.
• Maintain and initiate internal controls to reduce risk and control inventory and costs.
• Oversee accounts receivable department to ensure that receivables are collected timely, and credit is extended to desired customers. Direct Report is Accounts Receivable Manager.
• Supervise the accounts payable department to protect company's cash by implementing and maintaining policies including strict fraud protocols that ensure only valid vendors are paid based on prices agreed upon prior to purchase. Pay vendors promptly to maximize ordering efficiencies and term discounts while maximizing cash flows and rebates. Direct Report is Accounts Payable Manager.
• Monitor all treasury operations (cash, credit card, wires/ACH) ensuring the safeguarding of all company cash transactions enforcing all policies including strict fraud protocols. All transactions are to be recorded accurately and efficiently into the financial system. Direct Report is Treasury Manager
• Supervise sales tax operations ensuring compliance with all state regulations including timely required filings. Confirm that all state sales tax certificates for all non-taxable customers are secured and maintain properly. Ensure all Sales Tax audits are completed judiciously. Direct Report is Assistant Controller.
• Monitor all capital asset acquisitions ensuring proper authorizations. All transactions are to be recorded accurately and efficiently into the financial system. Direct Report is Assistant Controller.
• Controller and all direct report are responsible to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulatory matters working directly with the CFO.
• Work with President, Vice Presidents, General Managers, and Regional and Branch Managers on all financial aspects of their areas of responsibilities including monitoring of operational expenses to ensure maximum costs benefit.
• Work with IT Department on all financial systems to increase productivity and provide accurate information to all Management at all levels including Corporate, Regional, and Branch/Department Managers.
• Coordinate annual and 401K audit working with Grant Thornton.
• Maintain strong communications with banking partners.
• Perform financial analysis projects as needed.

Skilland Qualifications include:

• Certified Public Accountant
• 10 Plus Years of accounting experience (Preferred mix of public and industry)
• 5 Plus Years of Management experience
• Motivated self-starter, comfortable in fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
• Working knowledge of ERP and Reporting systems
• Expert Level Microsoft Excel
• Experience in Developing Procedures identifying and implementing Process Improvements
• Excellent understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, and tax regulations
• Excellent leadership, management, and communications skills
