The Human Resources Director (HRD) is a Senior Leader that plans, organizes, and directs all aspects of human resources management in such a manner as to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees, compliance with all company policies and legal aspects of employee/employer relationships. In addition, the HRD directs hospital recruitment and retention program to ensure availability of appropriate staffing resources, serving as a resource to department managers and other employees; coordinates the overall education program for all staff in conjunction with the Education Coordinator/Employee Health Nurse; monitors employee health activities and workers' compensation management; assists with benefits administration; acts as liaison between Home Office Human Resources department and the hospital; and ensures appropriate documentation and record-keeping for regulatory compliance.
The Human Resources Director supports an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals; conveying the hospital mission to all staff; holding staff accountable for performance; motivating staff to improve performance and be responsible for the operation of the department; and measuring, assessing, and continuously improving the department's performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations when setting and applying policies and procedures.
Applies appropriate regulations, policies, and procedures to daily employee situations that arise.
Is responsible for oversight of all HR office operations.
Oversees activity pertaining to benefits, recruitment, retention, worker's compensation, staffing and wages, and employee relations.
Ensures that the hospital is compliant with The Joint Commission, and state and federal standards.
Manages and monitors Workers' Compensation claims and costs.
Investigates all employee accident claims and provides follow-up intervention as needed, in accordance with hospital/company policy and workers' compensation laws.
Directs case management of hospital employees for work-related injuries.
Manages light duty assignments, return to work program, etc.
Manages and monitors workers' compensation claims and costs.
Acts as a liaison between Home Office Human Resources department and Hospital Management.
Works with the management team to identify training opportunities and areas for development.
Develops and reports on data for various committees (Board, Quality Council, Safety, etc.).
Serves as a resource to department managers and other employees.
Acts as a Senior Leader that is responsible to help create an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission.
Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.
Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.
Completes mandatory training and courses required by completion date.
