Human Resource (HR) Professional

This Human Resource (HR) Professional must fit the needs our state-licensed healthcare organization. In addition to the responsibilities and requirements listed below, this individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate the ability to adapt, pivot, and prove they are an agent of change.

This individual must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive approach to the management of people in an organization. The most ideal candidate should have previous experience in interviewing, hiring, retaining, and coaching employees.

Ideally, they have dealt with all aspects of talent management during their previous employment. In addition to the human resources responsibilities of growing the success of our business, this Human Resource (HR) Professional will lead and manage administrative tasks.

The Human Resource (HR) Professional will oversee and develop key systems and processes within the organization that address the strategic needs of our business and people.

These tasks include (but are not limited to) the hiring of talented care professionals, training and developing employees, partnering closely with department leadership, and supporting the day-to-day needs of the Human Resources department.

This individual must embody the culture of professionalism, compassion, and dependability without question.

we are a 24-hour business that cares for our community. This 24-hour mission is met with the efforts of Recruiting, Human Resources, Nursing, Finance, Administrative, and Scheduling Departments.

All related administrative functions are performed in the office during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 : 30am-5 : 00pm.

However, these departments do not leave at 5 : 00pm, Monday through Friday. It takes all administrative staff to support our mission of care.

Each of us is expected to stay in the office until all client care needs / shifts are secured for the next day. On Fridays, we stay until care is secured throughout the weekend into Monday of the next week which means staying in the office longer on Friday evenings.

Our administrative salaries compensate for this business expectation, and we are expected to plan accordingly for our professional commitment.

Ours is a caring culture through cross-training. If your department’s efforts to support the mission are exhausted for the day, you are expected to jump-in and support your fellow leaders / teammates until our client’s needs are met.

We are on high alert with all-hands-on-deck 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Human Resource (HR) Professional must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily and meet minimum requirements.

These requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required for the position.

This position performs additional duties / tasks as assigned by Operations and the President.

Primary Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Recruiting logistics
  • Hiring facilitation

  • Employee development, coaching, and documentation
  • Employee relations and communications
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting
  • Employee file maintenance and filing processes
  • Compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping
  • Policy recommendation

Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

  • Maintains the HRIS database and generates scheduled or requested reports to assist management.
  • Updates employee phone directory and company organization chart.
  • Maintains and audits the database of employee contact information to ensure accuracy.
  • Assists in the development and updating of the employee-facing Human Resources information.
  • Keeps records and changes up to date and in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Benefits Administration

  • Conducts benefit orientations and other benefit training, as needed.
  • Processes enrollments, changes, and terminations of participants in all benefit plans and programs.
  • Manages bonus and award programs.
  • Assists employees with any benefit claim issues or concerns.
  • Administers the day-to-day transactions dealing directly with employee benefits.

Training and Development

  • Schedules participants for pre-employment / employment in-service / training sessions.
  • Tracks participants and training records in Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Tracks the implementation of the employee performance / development plans
  • Manages the Annual Performance Review program.

Employment

  • Manages the logistics of the recruiting process, in keeping with company recruitment policies.
  • Conducts hiring interviews.
  • Conducts new-employee orientation.
  • Prepares paperwork required for new hires and establishes personnel file.
  • Partners with all departments during hiring process.

Employee Relations

  • Assists in the development and implementation of an employee handbook and new personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the implementation and tracking of company safety and health programs.

Targets & Goals

  • Develop of a superior workforce.
  • Develop an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Develop programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Develop department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Personal ongoing development.

General Requirements

  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Superb oral and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  • Experience in administration of benefits and other HR programs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Professional leadership skills
  • Skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Two years of general business experience preferred.
  • One year of human resources experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred, not required.
