Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company Inc is Hiring a DRY DOCK- HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST Near Honolulu, HI

Dragados-USA is looking for a Human Resource Generalist for the Dragados-Hawaiian Dredging-Orion (DHO) Joint Venture on the Dry Dock Replacement project. The HR Generalist will assist the HR Manager on all Human Resource-related duties.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage recruitment process including liaising with hiring managers, posting open positions, review applications, conduct interviews, executing reference checks, extending job offers and conducting new hire orientation.
  • Assist with employee relations issues, conducting investigations, evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs about available benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Monitors personnel policies, procedures and forms; keeping current with laws and regulations affecting personnel, employment practices or trends. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors. Advises management of actions and potential risks.
  • Ensures that all new hire documents are complete and available for audit when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA and five (5) years Human Resources Generalist or Business Partner experience with strategic and operational focus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including excel, with proven experience in metrics creation and reporting.
  • Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization, regulatory agencies, members of the business community, and possesses excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and makes timely decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.
PREFERRED:
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Previous experience with multi-site, multi-functional organizations
  • Experience in similar industry
  • Experience in workforce planning/people analytics

Starting Salary: $80,000/yr.
