Columbia Basin Health Association is Hiring a Human Resources Assistant Near Othello, WA

Overview

The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department in the areas of benefits, onboarding, systems management, data reporting, employee relations and credentialing.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible to assist Human Resources Generalist with Benefits Administration

  • Responds to benefits questions from staff
  • Reconciles and processes vendor reports and invoices
  • Assists with compliance audits

2. Responsible to assist Recruiter with coordination of site visits and community tours.

3. Responsible to assist with new hire onboarding

  • Ensures new hire paperwork is complete and entered into HRIS
  • Ensures requisition and submissions are completed for equipment and systems requests for new hires
  • Assists with communication to new hires regarding onboarding
  • Sends out new hire “Welcome to the Team” cards to hiring managers
  • Assists with new hire orientation preparation/setup
  • Initiates new hire orientation survey
  • Assists with new hire announcements

4. Responsible to perform general clerical duties

  • Picks up and rounds department mail daily
  • Prepares correspondence and meeting minutes
  • Scans, indexes and verifies employee records into electronic document retrieval system
  • Schedules meeting, appointments and catering
  • Assists with systems login resets
  • Documents staff call-ins and initiates attendance warning letters

5. Other Human Resources Support

  • Assists in ordering of department supplies and business cards
  • Assists with coordination of department recognitions and new hire apparel
  • Responsible to ensure issuance and tracking of new hire 90-day and 6-month apparel
  • Assists with printing of employee identification badges
  • Attends meetings and prepares meeting minutes and action items.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams

Other Duties:

  • Assist in employee and organization events as assigned
  • Promotes a positive work culture and uphold clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of Behavior
  • Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Professional and Technical Knowledge:

  • Possesses general work-related skills at a higher level than completion of high school, including written and verbal communication skills, computation and computer skills, and mathematical knowledge frequently acquired through completion of an Associate’s degree program.
  • HRCI or SHRM certification or ability to achieve per HRCS/SHRM certification requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to prepare more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs and other elements.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel to analyze data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements.
  • Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn and use other systems to support the functions of the Human Resources department.

Communication Skills:

  • Job duties require the employee to effectively communicate basic or non-technical information to co-workers and others.
  • Job duties require the effective communication of information in written (including electronic) correspondence.
  • Job duties require the effective communication of information during informal and formal verbal presentations.
  • Possesses excellent cross cultural communication skills

Travel:

  • Frequent travel to various clinic sites is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet company insurance standards to drive company vehicle.
