The Business Development Manager cultivates business growth opportunities in new and existing markets by conducting and effectively analyzing market research, creating professional and strategic networking opportunities, and implementing marketing strategies to maximize sales and expand the reach of our business.
Career Path Definitions and Distinctions:
Manager: Has 5-7 years of progressively complex experience developing sales markets and generating new business opportunities. Demonstrates a solid foundation of knowledge in Casella’s business products and services as well as client relationship management. Effectively cultivates business markets to create sales opportunities and expand the company’s business reach.
Senior Manager: Has a minimum of 8-10 years of progressively complex experience developing sales markets and generating new business opportunities. Demonstrates solid ability to synthesize current and emerging market trends with a variety of Casella’s business products and services to create a coherent business strategy.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, a minimum of 5-7 years “business to business” sales, a history of succeeding in a collaborative environment, and be legally eligible to work in the US. A valid driver’s license, the ability to travel 60% of the time along with periodic overnight travel is required. An advanced degree and experience or interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field are preferred.
Strong interpersonal and strategic selling and negotiation skills, and excellent verbal, written, analytical and formal presentation skills. Demonstrated sales results and track record of success, proficient use of Office 365 and other related platforms, and be adept working digital environment.
Outgoing, results-driven individual who has the ability to see the larger picture while focusing on detailed information and is adept at building and maintaining relationships, developing trust, and synthesizing information to create sales opportunities.
