Receptionist
Schedule: This position is Full Time. Front desk hours are 8:00am-4pm Monday-Friday
General Job Summary: This position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism due to the constant interactions with residents and families to guarantee their satisfaction. Courteously greeting visitors and directing visitors appropriately. Maintain a current list of residents and their room numbers. The Receptionist will be the first contact that a prospective client, family member or resident will have with the facility, therefore, public relations, customer service oriented and telephone technique is critical. Performs secretarial and general office procedures to relieve business office, administrative and other departments; specific duties vary considerably according to the department that this person is assisting in accommodating, i.e.: typing, making copies, filing, completing indexes/directories; and still answering the telephone, utilizing the intercom and making certain that no-one is left unattended when on hold, etc.
Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Completion of secondary education or otherwise show ability to read, write, spell, basic arithmetic and follow oral and/or written directions. Typing required, and ability to learn to run basic office equipment, i.e.: copier, etc.
3. Must speak and understand English with excellent telephone skills required. Strong verbal communication skills and professional demeanor is critical to the position.
4. Ability to handle simultaneous tasks is critical to this position.
5. Must have and continually demonstrate a positive attitude toward the elderly, sick, infirmed, telephone callers, visitors and prospective clients; working with others; commitment to attendance and dependable; and, the facility's mission in caring for our residents.
Training: 1 - 2 days
