Summary/Purpose
The Human Resources Generalist is a full-time position, reporting directly to the Human Resources Director. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the HR department in recruiting, nurturing, and retaining high-performing staff. This role encompasses various HR functions, including but not limited to: talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration and training and development. All duties will be performed in accordance with Summit Academy OIC's policies and procedures, and in adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Essential Functions

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:
* Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and assist in creating job descriptions.
* Source and attract top talent through various channels, including job postings, social media, and networking.
* Conduct screenings, assess candidates, and assist supervisors with managing the entire recruitment process.
* Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork and new hire orientation.
Employee Relations and Compliance:
* Maintain knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Workers Compensation and ACA etc., to ensure compliance.
* Assist with investigations when necessary and address employee relations issues.
* Assist with administering disciplinary actions and exit interviews as needed.
Compensation and Benefits Administration:
* Assist employees with benefit-related questions and concerns.
* Ensure compliance with benefit laws and regulations.
* Administer compensation programs and conduct salary benchmarking.
* Stay up-to-date with compensation trends and make recommendations.
Training and Development:
* Assist in Identifying training needs within the organization.
* Assist in developing and delivering training programs on various HR topics.
* Assist in the creation of career development plans for employees.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
HR Documentation and Recordkeeping:
* Audit and update HR records, including personnel files and databases.
* Prepare and generate HR reports as needed.
* Ensure confidentiality and data security of HR information.
* Handle document retention and compliance with recordkeeping requirements
Performance Management:
* Support the performance appraisal process.
* Assist in setting performance goals and objectives.
* Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance-related matters.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of the human resources field and functions, including federal and state regulations.
* Ability to handle and maintain confidentiality.
* Highly detail-oriented; strong organizational skills.
* Strong customer service and communications skills: verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation.
* Ability to show initiative and solve problems independently or escalate when necessary - sense of accountability and sound professional judgment.
* Proficient with HRIS system preferably ADP Workforce Now
* Commitment to the mission and values of Summit Academy OIC.
Supervisory Responsibility
None.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as: computers (with keyboard and mouse), phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary position, requiring the ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time. Extensive use of computer, keyboard and mouse.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Summit Academy OIC's business hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. The specific work schedule is flexible and will be mutually agreed upon by the candidate and the hiring manager.

Required Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Three or more years HR experience
* Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
* Proven experience in HR roles, with comprehensive knowledge of HR functions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office suite skills highly preferred.
* Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
