Addison Group Los Angeles, in partnership with our client, seeks a Payroll and HR Specialist to join a real estate-oriented company in West Los Angeles on a direct hire basis.

Job - The hired Payroll and HR Specialist will perform numerous month-end closing accounting activities (journal entries, accruals, adjustments, etc.

and calculating bonus payments to determine compensation for each employee. You will report to the Controller.

Job Site Status (Remote / Hybrid / Onsite) - Our client has an onsite work schedule.

Culture / Environment - Our client has a laid back, friendly, and down to earth atmosphere.

Compensation / Benefits - Salary range is $85,000-$95,000 / year. Our client supplements base compensation with health insurance (M / D / V), paid vacations / holidays, and a 401k plan.

PAYROLL AND HR SPECIALIST DUTIES

Payroll Processing

• Review and process payrolls for the company's United States operations
• Maintain the payroll process by directing the collection, calculation, data entry, review, and payroll approval
• Ensure accuracy of all timekeeping and timesheets, including PTO and Sick Day requests
• Process wage garnishments, PTO, attendance, and all other payroll tasks
• Provide all reports as requested by management (labor, overtime, leave of absence, headcount, etc.)
• Work with the Accounting Department to ensure payroll accuracy
• Assist with all employee contributions (401K) plans
• Field all employee payroll questions
• Maintain confidential employee records
• Provide employment verification when asked

Human Resources (HR)

Assist with Benefits Administration during the annual open enrollment period

Miscellaneous

• Prepare audit reports for internal and external audits
• Accept other ad hoc payroll and HR tasks, as needed

PAYROLL AND HR SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• At least three (3) years of Payroll Accounting experience
• Payroll processing experience at a company with at least one hundred (100) employees

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
• Multi-state payroll processing experience
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), and / or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation

PAYROLL AND HR SPECIALIST SKILLS

Required

Technical

• Intermediate-level Excel proficiency (v-lookups, pivot tables, MACROS, et. al)
• Experience with an ERP system or any accounting program

Interpersonal

• Willingness to take on significant responsibility
• Ability to work independently
• Sound critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills
