Valley Youth House is Hiring a Program Coordinator (Pride) Near Philadelphia, PA
- To provide regular scheduled high quality direction and supervision to direct service staff fostering a positive youth/human development environment.
- To monitor and ensure quality service delivery and safety in compliance with Valley Youth House standards of practice, program regulations, funding contracts, or other service agreements including mobile housing assessments and housing program intakes.
- To cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with key stakeholders including funders, community, Philadelphia School District and inter-agency.
- To provide outreach and direct services to youth 21 and under and eligible for the School District Mckinney Vento Program who are experiencing homelessness and to provide emergency survival supplies to youth during the engagement process.
- To support the day to day operations of the Synergy in Schools Program including facilitation and support to youth advisory boards and student engagement opportunities within Philadelphia School District.
- To become familiar with targeted schools and locations within the program's geographical area of operation in which youth congregate frequently and engage them in services and opportunities to re-engage with their education.
- To participate in the planning process for each client and review all youth case records to ensure that each record contains required forms, notes, and records. 3. To prepare a monthly statistical report for review by project management staff, to ensure that required data is input into all required funder databases and submit required program reports.
- To attend all internal and external training necessary and ensure the team does the same.
- To have knowledge of and adhere to all safety practices as set forth in the Synergy Project Manual, Agency Personnel Policy and further set forth by direct supervisor. 6. To maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries and conduct in all agency-related settings including agency vehicles.
- The Synergy in Schools Supervisor must possess, at minimum, a high school degree or GED with 3 - 5 years experience working with adolescent youth and young adults.
- The Synergy in Schools Supervisor must also possess a valid driver's license and driving record, as outlined in the agency personnel manual.
- They have never been convicted of any child abuse offenses.
- This position requires cultural competency and good communication skills.
- This position further requires working in unorthodox settings, the ability to act as a role model to which you can relate, the ability to think quickly and stay calm in the face of emergencies, and the ability to be flexible.
- Staff must be committed to empowering youth and have a good sense of professional boundaries.
- A Bachelor's degree in human services or equivalent is preferred.
