POSITION TITLE: HR Assistant FLSA: Non-Exempt
SUPERVISOR: Human Resources Manager Job Code: NASALARY RANGE: $24-$26 an Hour
OVERVIEW: The HR Assistant will assist with administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department including fielding employee inquiries, recruiting, filing, onboarding/offboarding, and data entering.DIRECT REPORTS:
  • None
QUALIFICATIONS:Core Requirements
  1. Knowledge of business and administrative management practices and procedures
  2. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio)
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  4. Ability to multi-task and manage time to complete daily and weekly tasks as well as special projects
Job-Specific Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field with at least 4 years administrative experience, or equivalent experience in an Human Resource role is required.
  2. Knowledge of business and administrative management practices and procedures.
  3. Knowledge of and experience in standard human resource practices is strongly desired.

  1. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):Core Responsibilities
  1. Answer and route incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally
  2. Recruiting: post jobs, source resumes, screen candidates, schedule interviews, create offer letters, authorization to hire forms
  3. Coordinate employee training plans, employee development plans and leadership training
  4. Process new hires and separations: CDSS verifications, OIG verifications, CCL documents, IT
  5. Maintain employee personnel files and complete filing
  6. Support the staff potlucks and other employee events as assigned​​​​​​
  7. Adhere to all safety and security procedures for opening and closing the office daily​​​​​​
  8. Support Human Resources with organizational duties, including creating / updating reports and charts
  9. Ensure that the office supplies inventory is maintained at normal amounts coordinating with all locations
  10. Provide and coordinate administrative support between all admin, volunteer, and intern staff as needed
  11. Assist with employee electronics inventory management: assign and collect computers/phones/hotspots/keys
  12. Process incoming and outgoing mail
  13. Other duties as assigned

  5. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  6. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  7. The employee may be required to make and/or receive physical contact in the process of delivering First Aid/CPR or Handle with Care, or in training to those methods.
  8. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  9. Ability to get CPR and First Aid certificate within 11 days of start date, and maintain a current certificate
  10. Must clear a Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check including fingerprinting before start date and maintain clearance
  11. Must clear a health screening, including TB before start date and maintain clearance
  12. Must be at least 21 years of age and able to work in a Community Care Licensed Facility
  13. Must be able to drive, have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and maintain a clean driving record.
