UCLA is Hiring an Administrative Assistant III Near Los Angeles, CA

Administrative Assistant III serves support for the Director and Deputy Director of the Center for Middle East Development (CMED). Major duties include providing logistical support for speakers, public lectures, and special events on UCLA campus and overseas; providing administrative support to general office operations; and providing support to public information and community outreach tasks including writing and distributing public information materials through the website and emails.

Required/Preferred
Demonstrated cultural and political background in the Middle East.
Required
Demonstrated experience in organizing large-scale international events.
Required
Demonstrated experience in designing and creating conference materials such as online surveys, event registration forms, event invitations and auto-send systems, and shareable online documents.
Required
Demonstrated knowledge in academic research experience and knowledge of research methodology.
Required
Demonstrated writing skills and knowledge in academic research and methodology. This includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive reports and blog writing.
Required
Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, and Publisher for the production of reports, flyers and graphs.
Required
Knowledge of online programs such as Survey Monkey, iContact, Trello, Zkipster, and Wufoo.
Required
Skill in sending clear and distinct email correspondence, using appropriate grammar, to obtain or convey information to individuals at various international organizational levels.
Required
Ability to design and maintain computer file backup system.
Required
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in a busy office environment.

Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are:
changes in workload, changes in assignment, competing requirements; and heavy workload.

Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal supervision.

Typing skills to prepare correspondence, reports, manuscripts and other documents with speed and accuracy.
