Salary & Compensation

• UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

• 2 years Experience teaching introductory life science courses (as a teaching assistant and/or instructor of record), (Required)

• 2 years Experience in educational research (qualitative & quantitative) as related to inclusive bio (Required)

• 2 years Experience working with undergraduate students in a research setting (lab or educational, or both) (Required)

• 2 years Supervisory experience with undergraduate students in a research setting. (Preferred)

• 2 years Experience with chemical safety in a lab environment. (Required)

• Knowledge of microbial biology and antimicrobial experimental design and execution (specifically experience with bacteria). (Required)

• Knowledge of sterile technique, basic molecular biology skills such as DNA extraction and PCR (Required)

• Bioinformatic skills related to microbial identification. (Required)

• Knowledge of microbial metabolism. (Required)

• Knowledge of fixation, embedding, and sectioning methods as applicable to seaweeds. (Required)

• Basic familiarity with the statistical platform R. (Required)

• Basic familiarity with Google documents and Google drive. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

• Bachelor's Degree in related field and / or equivalent education, experience / training (Required)

• Master's Degree MS in a related sciences field, e.g. Biology (Preferred)
