Summary
This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), in Washington, D.C. The position reports to the Director, Acting Director, or other senior leadership in OVW. OVW provides federal leadership in developing the nation's capacity to reduce gender-based violence and administer justice for, and strengthen services to, victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Duties

The duties and responsibilities for a 0301 Executive Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develops detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas for the assigned senior staff member.
Provides recommendations on issues pertaining to internal policies impacting administrative operations, internal policies, strategy, and training issues.
Reviews and edits decision memos, policy papers, and other correspondence for the assigned senior staff member.
Analyzes and evaluates existing, new, and emerging technology to improve administrative functions of the office.

You must be a United States Citizen or National.
You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.
You must meet all eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement and continue to meet these requirements throughout the hiring process. Offers can be rescinded if requirements are not met.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Executive Assistant at (GS-0301-13), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
To qualify for the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or equivalent band in the Federal service performing the following duties:
Reviewing and editing memos, briefing materials, and/or other correspondence for senior leadership.
Providing expert technical advice and recommendations on matters pertaining to organizational processes, procedures, and/or policies.
Developing and implementing effective tracking systems and methods for a wide variety of documents and/or action items including reports, memorandum, and/or correspondences.
You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 04/26/2024.
