SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of the Director, Franchise Development is to manage a sales territory and achieve/exceed sales goals in a high-volume environment. This entails working with both existing and prospective franchisees. This role will work closely with the Vice President of Franchise Development to assist with the presentation and closing of deals. A successful Director of Franchise Development will exhibit exceptional time management and interpersonal skills and a desire to close deals and grow the Tropical Smoothie Cafe brand with great “fit” franchisees. Must have an intimate detailed knowledge of all aspects of the brand. Role is “the face” of Tropical Smoothie Cafe. This role must be above reproach in terms of ethics and fair business dealings and customer relationships.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies and evaluates potential franchisees using a consultative sales approach, ensuring alignment with the brand’s values and goals.
Develops and maintains direct sales relationships with existing ready to grow franchisees in territory.
Supports the franchise efforts of a targeted territory of the United States
Thoroughly follows the defined sales process with prospective franchisees.
Tracks the progress of deals on a weekly basis to be reviewed by the leadership team – Must be able to work in a CRM and spreadsheet tracking environment.
Ensures all internal documents are completed to the highest level of accuracy in the appropriate timeframes.
Adheres to best practices for task follow-up, and documentation of all sales activity in the CRM system.
Communicates in a professional and effective manner with all members of the organization as well as prospective clients/franchisees.
Displays excellent listening skills and articulation.
Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to Detail in All aspects of the work.
Utilizes real estate models and collaborates with real estate team to ensure that the prospective location would be a viable option for TSC.
Provides marketing recommendations on driving lead flow in territory.
Demonstrates persistence and ability to overcome rejection.
Utilizes effective cold calling techniques to develop qualified meetings.
Builds awareness in the marketplace, educates prospects and meets or exceeds the assigned sales goals.
Stays up to date on industry best practices/competition and contributes to the continuous improvement of sales strategies.
Provides Senior Management team with tools to assist in franchise development and brand improvement – research projects will be required from time to time.
Must passionately represent the brand at all times.
Possesses a team player and can-do attitude.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Some travel required (industry tradeshows, in-market events).
Must be able to speak about the Tropical Smoothie brand and the state of the business.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A 4-year degree in Business or a related field is desired.
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
5 years’ experience in Franchise Sales is preferred.
Strong understanding of the franchising industry and regulations.
Results-driven with a track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets in a high-volume environment.
Non-traditional venue experience is preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, OR KNOWLEDGE
Ability to influence others and sell over the phone, using a consultative sale approach.
Excellent web-based skills utilizing MS Office Suite
Excellent listening skills and ability to uncover and overcome pain points.
