Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our legal team. As a Paralegal / Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to our attorneys and contribute to the efficient operation of our law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the legal field to gain valuable experience and work alongside experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and case management
- Conduct data entry and maintain accurate records in document management systems
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic files
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, and briefs
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating with witnesses
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and answering phone calls
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Paralegal / Legal Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Strong research skills and ability to gather information from various sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with document management systems and file organization
- Ability to draft legal documents under attorney supervision
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
