We're looking for a Human Resources Generalist for our client, New Voices for Reproductive Justice!

About New Voices:
New Voices is a leader in the Reproductive Justice movement. With nearly two decadesof experience in identity-based and issue-based leadership development, communityengagement and organizing, and state and federal level policy advocacy — New Voicesis the only Reproductive Justice organization in Pennsylvania and the first in Ohio. Ourmission is to “Advocate for Black Women, femmes, and girls in Pennsylvania and Ohiothrough community organizing, leadership development, and voter engagement.” NewVoices’ work is firmly rooted in the Reproductive Justice framework, and ourprogramming reflects our mission. New Voices’ core issues include Voter Engagement,Abortion Access, and Environmental Justice.
About the Role:
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will administer human resources policies andprograms, balancing employee advocacy and business operating needs. The SeniorHuman Resources Generalist will promote equity, fair treatment, positive employeerelations, and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws. Providescomprehensive HR support in the areas of recruitment and retention, compensation andbenefits, employee relations, continuous performance coaching and management,pro-active problem identification and resolution. The Senior Human ResourcesGeneralist understands and supports the accomplishment of business priorities andbuilds credible internal relationships which allow for better decisions and organizationaleffectiveness. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will be involved in solvingcomplex HR-related issues. The Senior Human Resources Generalist may serve as aresource for colleagues with less experience. There is a high focus on employeeengagement, benefits administration, compensation, recruitment, talent managementand conflict resolution paired with an opportunity for developing and refining systems.
In addition:
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand New Voices’ goals andstrategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Oversees, refines, and executes employee standards and procedures, using andimproving existing and recommended HR systems and processes.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes,training, initiatives, and surveys to support New Voices’ needs.
  • Oversees the administration of human resources programs including, but notlimited to, compensation and benefits; employee relations; investigations;performance and talent management; recognition: occupational health andsafety.
  • Works internally to plan and coordinate training and development programs thatwill support professional development and ensure compliance needs are met.
  • Executes best practices for talent acquisition and talent management.
  • Performs advanced employee relations functions including support andcounseling regarding personnel and job-related conflicts, problem solving anddispute resolution, managing employee performance issues, review andassessment of termination requests; conduct exit interviews.
  • Handles workers compensation, first report of injury database and safetyregulations process.
  • Conducts open enrollment and other benefits related programs as needed.
  • Maintains employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Monitors and ensures New Voices’ compliance with federal, state, and localemployment laws and regulations. Recommends best practices and reviews andmodifies policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldrequired; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • At least three years of progressive human resources experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills paired with a strong background in projectmanagement and driving to outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Experience with benefits programs, HRIS and ATS.
