The Opportunity Network (OppNet) is seeking an experienced, flexible, and detail-oriented Payroll Manager, reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance and Grants Administration. The Payroll Manager will perform payroll processing, related duties, and some cash management functions. The Payroll Manager will work and play appropriate active roles in OppNet's various equity goal working groups.
The ideal candidate will personally connect to our important work and value diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) across the organization. The candidate will demonstrate an awareness of the needs and challenges high school and college-level students face from historically underserved and underrepresented communities.
Payroll Processing (75%)
Process bi-monthly payroll for employees in multiple states, ensuring all laws involving payroll and taxes are being met using the ADP Workforce platform.
Process off-cycle payroll as needed.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer any employee payroll queries.
Maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
Process bi-monthly labor distribution reports and reconcile payroll with QuickBooks.
Reconcile Gente funding reports with OppNet records for HRA, FSA & transit.
Cash Management (10%)
Manage credit card and petty cash account reconciliations.
Work with the Senior Director of Finance and Administration and Assistant Director of Finance and Grant Administration to ensure proper allocation of expenses to programs, grants, and contracts as well as projects.
Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable duties as needed.
HR Management (15%)
Partner with the Director of Human Resources to resolve short-term disability and unemployment cases and other labor-related situations.
Maintain personnel records, ensuring that all information and relevant forms are in compliance and up to date.
Partner with an insurance broker for health insurance and other benefit-related inquiries.
A bachelor’s degree is required, with a focus in accounting/finance or business management
Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in PAYROLL processing
Minimum of 2 - 5 years of Accounting/ Bookkeeping experience
Knowledge of payroll software - ADP Workforce preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
QuickBooks knowledge is required
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records

The hiring salary range for this role is $75,833 - $81,112.50 and will be commensurate with experience.
