The Galloway Group is Hiring an Administrative/Accounting Assistant Near Fort Myers, FL

The Galloway Group, Inc., based in Fort Myers, FL, has been a leading supplier of underground and aerial utility construction materials and tools for over 20 years. We are a customer focused organization that takes pride in providing top-notch service to our customers while also maintaining a pleasant working environment for our employees.

We are seeking an intermediate level Administrative/Accounting Assistant to join our team. The Administrative/Accounting Assistant position is a full-time position responsible for regular assigned administrative tasks as well as providing support to the Accounting and Sales Departments on an as needed basis. The ideal candidate will be well organized to handle a variety of tasks while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma
  • At least 2 years of related job experience
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Sales experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong knowledge of document management/filing concepts
  • Solid understanding of the sales/distribution life cycle
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • High level of accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good time-management skills;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good business acumen
  • Ability to work well independently or as part of a team
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Microsoft Great Plain experience is a plus but not required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Sales and Accounting Departments
  • Assist with answering phones
  • Assist with phone and walk-in sales
  • Customer and vendor file management
  • Maintain customer tax exemption certificates as necessary
  • Credit card/cash receipts management
  • Help research issues that arise and present possible solutions
  • Contribute to the daily operational tasks and organization of the office
  • Ordering and keeping stock of all office supplies
  • Create and modify documents using Microsoft Word or Excel;
  • Data entry in Great Plains
  • Cross training in various Sales and Accounting duties to provide coverage for other team members as needed
  • Manage the credit application process

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
