The Data Sherpas is Hiring a Technical Product Manager Near Austin, TX

Who We Are:

The Data Sherpas are a team of highly skilled and motivated engineers that help our clients at every phase of their cloud journey. If it touches the cloud, involves data, or lives as an application, we have either worked on it or have the skills and expertise to accomplish it. 

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a self-motivated and strategic Technical Product Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating on internal tooling modernization projects. If you are passionate about driving impactful change at scale and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. This is a contract position until the end of the year with a possible extension.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the requirements and objectives of internal tooling modernization projects.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for modernizing internal tooling systems, including replacing legacy Oracle and ERP systems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, architects, and designers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable plans.
  • Drive the execution of modernization projects, ensuring alignment with technical standards, security policies, and best practices.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of modernization efforts.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to stakeholders, providing regular updates and insights on project status and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners as needed to leverage expertise and resources for project success.

What You Have:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager or similar role, with a track record of successfully leading complex technical projects from conception to delivery.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, with experience working with various providers preferred.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including experience with Oracle or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies such as Agile and experience with project management tools like Jira or Asana.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
