Overview of the role:

Product Managers at Upshop focus on retail applications that play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of the company's product offerings. You will be responsible for blending technical expertise, retail industry knowledge, and product management skills to deliver innovative software solutions that meet the needs of retail clients and end-users. You'll work closely with a cross functional group to research, develop, market and drive adoption with our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy Development: Develop and implement product strategies aligned with company objectives. Anticipate market trends and position our products for growth and innovation.
  • Technical Oversight: Work closely with the engineering team to oversee the development process, ensuring product features align with user needs and business goals. Stay abreast of the latest technology trends in SaaS and retail industries.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and improvement.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage directly with retail clients to gather insightful feedback, understand their challenges, and incorporate solutions into the product roadmap.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of product managers and collaborate with cross-functional teams (including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support) to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
  • Performance Metrics: Utilize data analysis tools to track product performance and make data-driven decisions to enhance product functionality and user experience.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including senior management, to align product vision and ensure transparency throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve complex product-related issues, balancing customer needs with business priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in product management, specifically in a SaaS environment.
  • Proven experience in the retail sector, with a deep understanding of retail processes and challenges.
  • Strong technical background, with an understanding of software development processes and SaaS product lifecycles.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Experience with UX/UI principles, data analysis tools, and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and a commitment to continuous learning.
