Job purpose

We are looking for an analytical accounts receivable professional to assist our accounting department as it receives, processes, and collects on goods sold or services rendered. In this role, you will be required to review account information, correct discrepancies, and ensure that accounts are properly billed and that payments are collected.

To succeed as an accounts receivable professional, you should be a skilled and thorough researcher with excellent communication and record-keeping skills. You should be detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with strong math and computer skills.

Duties and responsibilities

· Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.

· Sets up new customer accounts after performing relevant credit checks and identity verification procedures as defined by the business.

· Processes credit hold and release requests

· Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.

· Communicates with customers to provide statements, invoices, etc. to follow up with outstanding payments.

· Processes payments from customers through check, ACH, credit card, online orders, etc.

· Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.

· Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.

· Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Controller & A/P team.

· Collaborates with the Controller to reconcile accounts receivable with bank statements and any fees incurred

· Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A degree is not mandatory, but a degree in the following subjects would be beneficial: Finance or Economics, Business Studies and Accounting
• Required: An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills is required
• Preferred: Oracle Netsuite ERP experience
• Preferred: Microsoft Excel skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
