JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: HR Admin Assistant Department: Human Resources
FLSA Status: Non - Exempt
Reports To: CHRO
JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing
administrative support to the HR department. Responsibilities also include assisting with payroll (ADP),
onboarding, recruiting and any other needs within the HR team. Must possess a good knowledge of all
administrative and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's
organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal
and state laws regarding employment practices. This role will maintain adherence to TARTA’s rules, policies,
and procedures in support of the agency's goals and objectives, efficiency of operation, cost effectiveness,
and positive management-labor relations.
One Team! One TARTA! The role of the Human Resources Administrative Assistant will focus on supporting
talent within a new TARTA. In 2020, TARTA embarked on a transformational journey with the development
of TARTA Next, a ten-year plan to increase community value through public transit services that make a
positive impact. This transformation is powered by a dedicated team of professionals in each department
from the leadership team to every front-line (and behind the scenes) team member.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as HR liaison with TARTA departments, especially Finance and Payroll, and foster positive
relationships.
  • Process in all new hires using the ADP Workforce Now Onboarding module.
  • Handle all administrative tasks of the office, including screening calls, handling incoming mail,
setting up meetings and maintaining department files and supplies.
  • Maintain calendar for Chief Human Resources Officer
  • Handle labor law posters for the organization to ensure compliance
  • Prepare materials for various audits as requested
  • Maintain all personnel records, both physical files and digital versions.
  • Manage HR documents (e.g. onboarding guides and packets) and update internal databases as
needed.
  • Maintain job descriptions for all staff positions.
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork among all staff, promoting a positive work
environment and employee engagement.
  • Participate in the development of department goals, objectives, priorities and procedures and
implement the same.
  • May be required to perform other related job duties; all job descriptions are subject to change.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources process, procedures, and techniques.
  • Self-direction and the ability to take ownership and drive assigned tasks and responsibilities to

completion.

  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Must be hardworking, dedicated with a goal-oriented mindset to help support the organization’s

mission.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Minimum Qualifications
A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to
perform the essential functions of the position.
Education and Experience

  • AS Degree or 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Database knowledge, ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • SHRM-CP Certification

Physical Effort Required

reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to operate a telephone or other telecommunications
device. Extensive use of a computer, mouse and keyboard and viewing of the computer screen is required.
Specific vision abilities required of this job include vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
